It’s A Mans World

What was the first profession? What was the second?

Pimping is explained to be an extremely intense “career”. “Organization is the biggest factor”, said by Iceberg Slim. Some call him a maniac for the way he would talk to a woman so gravely. The documentary opened my eyes to a whole new view on women, life-experiences, and managing a business. Not only learning about his incredible writing skills, Slim made sure of our perception that he actually lived the life he wrote about. Numerous books written by him including “Pimp: The Story Of My Life”. This is a book that will not just disturb you to the core, but put you in a state of mind lin which you think your actually a Pimp. I’m not encouraging the profession, although now I understand the view, perception and history that comes with pimping.

This is an important documentary to watch. I highly recommend it because this is the truth. This is the only time one can get inside peek at the life of a pimp. It entails the truth behind the struggles of the profession and what kind of life could lead to this “career”. The life he went through will only keep you up for the next couple nights. Stories upon stories giving the idea of how the universe has a plan for everyone. But it’s on you to make it happen. Society will always see Pimping as disgusting or hateful profession. On the contrary, a pimp was held in regard like an athlete or entertainer. Some even looked at him or one as a hero. As said in the documentary, in order for one to pursue this career, you can’t be normal. Slim would say he would have to be God to these women. If a woman can touch God whenever she wants… Well then he’s not God. That’s how a Pimp keeps business away from personal, according to him.

Aside from keeping his “ladies in place”, Slim had an undeniably raw talent for writing. This is a man that came from what’s underneath the gutter… The vocabulary that he bestowed upon the world in his books, unlock a mindset that reiterates you into his. It’ll take about 3-4 minutes to really understand just a phrase in his book “Pimp: The Story Of My Life”. “My heart lost rhythm at the flicker of phantom in the whiskey-stained voice.” That was a light one…
