Is It Such A Bad Thing?

Recess, lunch time, last period… The countless nights of extreme studying, sweat and tears put in late nights just to get a B-. What was it all for? What happens now?

THE CLASS OF 2020

Prom. The only thing they’ve been looking forward to throughout the tedious classes taught by the underpaid teachers all year.

All to get their diploma in the mail? Is it their future that excites them or the end of the year after prom bash?

Why is it the graduating classes of 2020 is experiencing something like this? Some would say it’s a curse that the Coronavirus came at a time like this, but I say it’s a blessing.

This could possibly be a better way to spend it, some would say. There’s no prom, there’s also no end-of-year exam for us, no stress, no risk of summer school! Alright get over prom, it’s not happening! Be glad you’re getting 2-3 months off of school.

Of course this takes a toll on some students. For example, the ones who’ve been working so hard with perfect grades since grade one, those students who’ve been working for that Valedictorian spot. It’s those students whom I feel bad for. I do but I don’t, just don’t gloat too long.

Online school will become the new thing, I mean everyone is going to be doing their classes via online, all grades and universities. It’s the new alternative that everyone will have to accommodate too.

Some are learning new skills during this break, some are even using this time for business opportunities. Success is desired continuously, today we have the time, the chance.

“Outliers are those who have been given opportunities—and who have had the strength and presence of mind to seize them.”

-Malcom Gladwell
