Some win, some lose

I came across this picture while scrolling on Facebook, YES I still use Facebook. It was 4:30 AM, you can’t blame me. I had 3 Chocolate milk cups in me that night… It was not a good night for my self esteem. Anyways, the picture captioned “A man begs for his wife’s forgiveness inside a Divorce Court, Chicago, 1948”. As I first saw it I laughed, then I began to really look into it. As the gears were turning, I noticed in the caption that this pictures was taken in 1948.

COINCIDENTLY this was the same year Gandhi was assassinated, the man that lived and based his whole life around peace. A man was begging for his marriage back… Most peaceful man on earth passed away. I’m not saying anything… Seriously though, It’s not just a picture. There’s a much deeper meaning out of it. She stands there with all the power in her hands. Apparently the fur coat wasn’t enough! She had to go and wait for the begging. Really though, that guy made us all look weak.

As I’m writing this, I’m watching a movie called Sprinter. Very inspiring film, surrounding the life of an up and coming Jamaican Track star. Highly recommend it!

As for the picture, my only understanding is that she must’ve been one hell of a lady. To get a man on his knees begging, I just wonder. Where could she be now? Did she end up swearing off men? Did she continue her life with the power she had in that picture?

As for the gentleman on his knees,

boys will be boys… I guess.
